It's almost March 2011. Wait a second ... wasn't it just Christmas?
It sure seems like the year is moving along at brisk clip. The riding has been a little bit quieter than I would like so far. I have only been out a half dozen times, which is about the equivalent of being on life support. But scarce riding doesn't mean nothing is happening with the club. As is normally the case this time of year, the club management is meeting regularly, getting things in place for another busy year. Ride leader first-aid training, membership application processing, securing permits, insurance, sponsors, scheduling, web site content and hosting. Hopefully most of this stuff will be finalized in the next month so that we can concentrate more on riding.
There is a lot to look forward to this year. I always appreciate being able to leave work in the evening and ride with old and new friends. There will be a selection of weekend rides again this year, Squamish, the Sunshine Coast, Galbraith, Whistler etc. These days are always lots of fun, and a great opportunity for people that are new to the area or to riding to experience some of the other great riding in BC.
There is some riding going on, you will see the schedules when you log onto the forum. We also have an upcoming weekend ride in Squamish tentatively scheduled for the end of March. Watch for details on that. And, the season opener is not that far away. Make sure to check back to the website for that announcement.
Hope you have had a great start to the year!
